Today I will show and introduce about Moonrae-dong Artist Town.
There are not many iron foundries anymore in Seoul city but Monnrae-dong, there still coexist many iron foundries. Because from 1980’s Seoul was starting redevelopment and suffer from financial problems that was why many iron factories are closed and moves to another area. Moonrae-dong industrial complex was built with artist town for such as previous reason.
Moonrae-dong Artist Town place is good for walking slightly and you can see small steel works places and workers. An also there are lots of nice and good sculptures and paints as well.
Take a subway line no.2 (green line) and get off at Moonrae station. Please go out exit 7 and go up ahead and then finally you can see the big mask sculpture that is made by steel and that is the entrance of artist town.
This place is a distinctive atmosphere that has got the balance on iron factories and art works. You can take nice pictures with various and interesting art works and wall pictures. However, you need to be modest in manner to do not disturb for workers who works at small steel factories.
오늘 소개 할 곳은 서울 문래동 예술촌이에요.
문래동에는 많은 철공소가 있는데 서울도심에 남아있는 얼마 안 되는 공장지대에요.
많은 소규모 공장에서는 땀을 많이 흘리며 일하는 사람들을 볼 수 있고 또 멋진 그림과 조각품들도 볼 수가 있는 곳이기도 하여 가볍게 산책하기 좋은 곳이에요. 위치는 지하철 2호선을 타고 문래역 7번 출구로 나와 직진해서 쭉 올라가면 용접 마스크등 조각상이 보이는 곳이 바로 예술촌의 입구에요.
철공소와 예술작품이 한 곳에 어우러진 독특한 분위기의 마을이에요.
다양한 예술작품도 많지만 이곳에 가면 아름다운 벽화와 함께 공방을 구경하며 멋진 사진을 찍을 수 있어요. 대신에 철공소에 근무를 하시는 분들에게 방해가 되지 않도록 매너는 필수라는 것. 잊지 마세요 !!
