It wasn’t that long ago that you couldn’t get a decent coffee in Korea
It’s a whole new world now, though! One of the first things students comment on in Gangnam is the incredible number of coffee shops in the area – it seems the whole economy of Seoul is based on grinding up coffee beans and adding hot water. Koreans have really taken the whole cafe idea to heart, and they do it very, very well.
About a minute from the school, our favourite is Paris Baguette. The coffee is good, but the freshly baked bread is nothing short of sensational! After a night of spicy Korean dining, a slightly more bland breakfast snack is always welcome.
The Cream Cheese Pumpkin Bread ( 단호박크림치즈빵 ) will make you cry out in joy; the Deep Fried Squid Ink and Seaweed Bread ( 오징어먹물브레드 ) is more of an acquired taste…

Hint: Get the loyalty card – it accumulates points at quite a few other cafes, too.
